(BrightPress.org) – Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) took a nasty fall last week during a dinner event that landed him in the hospital over the weekend. On Monday, March 13th, he was released to an inpatient facility to continue to monitor and aid his recovery.
President Biden even spoke with McConnell’s family and wished him well. McConnell suffered a concussion and broken rib according to authorities.
This isn’t the first time McConnell has had a nasty spill, in 2019 he had another trip and fall at his home in Kentucky that resulted in a fractured shoulder. That required surgery to correct.
At 81, he’s one of the oldest swamp creatures still accruing benefits unto himself and deceiving the American people, and many GOP members are questioning his fitness for office.
Political consultant Alex Bruesewitz suggested as much and pointed out that McConnell “works against everything ‘America First’” – that is, the Trump-MAGA caucus or the new populist right that tends to support things like protecting the border and ending our involvement in expensive foreign wars. Continuing, he wished the Senator a swift recovery but suggested it was time for him to retire.
Additionally, McConnell suffered from polio as a child, resulting in difficulty walking which he overcame with “tenacity.” The uniparty, of which McConnell is a part, is riddled with ancient politicians who have no business in the high-stress, intellectually demanding positions in government.
Senator Diane Feinstein, 89, was just released from the hospital after being treated for a shingles infection.
Senator John Fetterman, 53, has been receiving inpatient treatment for clinical depression. Fetterman had a stroke during his campaign and never properly recovered. The brain damage resulted in an auditory processing condition that leaves the Senator with a difficulty hearing and speaking – not ideal for someone in the Senate.
Congress refuses to pass any law prohibiting or restricting ancient avatars for the elite from running due to their age. Nikki Haley suggested that folks over the age of 75 be required to take some sort of competency exam, and even that caused a stir. If we can require those who run to be a certain minimum age, certainly those over a certain age could be excluded for obvious reasons.
