A Wake-Up Call for Event Security
Well, folks, it seems our esteemed government officials have finally decided to take a good, hard look at event security protocols after the shocking incident at former President Trump’s rally. Who would’ve thought it’d take a near-assassination to get their attention? But here we are, diving into the murky waters of Biden’s independent security review initiative. Buckle up, patriots, because this story is more twisted than a pretzel at a White House picnic.
Whistleblowers Expose Security Failures
Senator Josh Hawley has been leading the charge in uncovering the truth behind the security failures at Trump’s July 13 rally. Multiple whistleblowers have come forward with allegations of “loose” security, painting a picture of an event that was about as secure as a screen door on a submarine.
According to Hawley’s letter to DHS Secretary Mayorkas, the security measures were alarmingly inadequate. Detection canines were absent, unauthorized individuals gained backstage access, and the security perimeter was as porous as Swiss cheese. It’s enough to make a bald eagle cry.

Drones: The Security Tool That Wasn’t
In a twist that would be comical if it weren’t so serious, it turns out that local law enforcement offered to use drone technology to secure the rally. The Secret Service, in their infinite wisdom, declined. This decision looks particularly foolish given that the shooter used a drone to survey the site before the attack.
“According to one whistleblower, the night before the rally, U.S. Secret Service repeatedly denied offers from a local law enforcement partner to utilize drone technology to secure the rally. This means that the technology was both available to USSS and able to be deployed to secure the site. Secret Service said no.” – Senator Josh Hawley
It’s like refusing to use an umbrella and then being surprised when you get soaked in a rainstorm.
Biden’s Independent Review: Too Little, Too Late?
President Biden has ordered an independent security review in the wake of this debacle. While it’s a step in the right direction, one can’t help but wonder if it’s akin to closing the barn door after the horse has bolted.
The review aims to improve long-term event security protocols, but the real question is: will it have any teeth? Or will it be another government report destined to collect dust on a shelf in Washington?
The Road Ahead
As we move forward, it’s clear that significant changes are needed in how we approach event security, especially for high-profile targets like former presidents. The House Republicans are pushing for a bill to enhance Secret Service accountability, which is a start.
But the real test will be in the implementation. Will we see meaningful improvements, or will this be another case of bureaucratic shuffling without real change? Only time will tell, but one thing’s for sure: the American people deserve better than what they got on July 13, 2024.
In the meantime, stay vigilant, patriots. It seems we can’t always count on those tasked with our protection to do their jobs effectively. Keep your eyes open and your wits about you – it’s a wild world out there.
