Rep. Luna Demands Perjury Charges Against Disgraced Secret Service Director

(BrightPress.org) – Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) called on House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) to look into potential perjury charges against President Joe Biden’s Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle after examining the investigation’s transcripts.

During July 22nd’s House Oversight Committee hearing, which focused on the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump, Luna accused Cheatle of lying under oath. Luna expressed frustration with Cheatle’s responses and openly accused her of obstructing the investigation. She also criticized Cheatle’s handling of security for Trump, which she believes made Congress members feel unsafe and vulnerable as well. According to Luna, Cheatle’s actions have given adversaries the impression that the country is less secure.

Luna highlighted a discrepancy in Cheatle’s statements regarding the Secret Service’s awareness of a threat. Cheatle had previously claimed the agency was unaware of any threat. However, communications from law enforcement indicated that the Secret Service was indeed informed about a suspicious individual around 5:59 p.m.

Luna blasted Cheatle for not stopping a sniper from targeting Trump at his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13th. She claimed this failure makes all members of Congress feel like sitting ducks.

Luna, who accused Cheatle of perjuring herself and stonewalling members of the House Committee on Oversight, is convinced that the would-be Trump assassin did not act alone. Luna and other committee members grilled Cheatle about the failed security detail that nearly led to Trump’s death during the Butler rally.

Reports indicate that top Secret Service officials had previously denied requests to increase security for Trump, adding to the controversy surrounding Cheatle’s leadership.

Following the hearing, Luna took to social media, expressing increased suspicion that the would-be assassin may not have acted alone. She and other committee members remain concerned about the details of the security failures that nearly resulted in Trump’s death during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Many lawmakers from both parties lambasted Cheatle for not providing satisfactory answers.
