RFK Jr Calls Trump ‘Unhinged’ After Being Labeled a ‘Democrat Plant’

(BrightPress.org) – Robert F. Kennedy Jr. responded to a social media tirade from Donald Trump with a debate challenge.

The GOP front-runner for the 2024 presidential election and former president Donald Trump posted on his social media platform, Truth Social last week about the Independent presidential candidate, RFK Jr. Trump said that Kennedy is a “Democrat plant” being used to help President Joe Biden win re-election. According to Trump, votes for Kennedy would be “wasted” because they would “swing either way.”

The Truth Social post continued with Trump calling Kennedy a “Radical Left Liberal” and “a fake” who in reality is anti-gun, pro-taxation and open borders, anti-military, and an “extreme environmentalist.” Trump claimed Kennedy’s views on vaccines were fake and even bashed Kennedy’s running mate, Nicole Shanahan, calling her his “Chief Funder” and commenting on her personal life. Trump said Kennedy’s choice to have Shanahan as his running mate was “unserious.”

Kennedy responded with a social media post on X challenging Trump to an in-person, respectful debate about critical issues instead of tit-for-tat posts on social media. Kennedy said Trump’s Truth Social rants make him sound “unhinged” and insinuated that the “barely coherent barrage of wild and inaccurate claims” indicates Trump is frightened.

Kennedy said that if Trump would meet him on stage for debate he would prove that Trump “betrayed” his followers by funding the Ukraine war after promising to end it, running up the biggest debt in history after promising to cut the deficit, and several other accusations. Kennedy continued to say that Trump should have the courage to step up to the challenge as the “most adept debater in modern American political history.”

Kennedy is a perceived threat to both Trump and Biden in the November general election as votes for the Independent could swing just enough votes from either Trump or Biden to sway the outcome in an undesired direction. Recent polls find Kennedy with 7.7 % support in a hypothetical run between the three candidates.
