Trump Uses Day Off from Court to Host Swing State Rallies

(BrightPress.org) – Donald Trump hit the campaign trail on Wednesday, taking advantage of his day away from the courtroom in Manhattan where his “hush money” trial is still ongoing. The Trump campaign held rallies in Wisconsin and Michigan on Wednesday, both swing states in presidential elections.

In Waukesha, Wisconsin, The Waukesha County Expo Center hosted 1200 Trump supporters while thousands more lined up outside. Trump’s speech focused on the economy. He promised to fix economic problems he blames on Joe Biden. Trump continued with a promise to close off the U.S.-Mexico border to stop immigrants from entering the country illegally.

Trump addressed the current conditions on college campuses nationwide involving protestors of the Israel-Hamas war. He said the “radical extremists” and their encampments on school grounds should be removed immediately. He criticized the way Biden has been handling the situation.

The Republican presidential nominee also talked about how retailers in Chicago have had to adapt to high crime rates. He also promised to secure elections with one-day voting, paper ballots, and requiring voter ID and proof of citizenship.

Many of the same concerns were addressed in a second rally in Freeland, Michigan along with issues exclusive to the state. He promised Michigan would be the home of manufacturing for a new military defense system comparable to Israel’s “iron dome.” Automotive manufacturing is key to Michigan’s economy and Trump promised to end Democratic policies that are harmful to the automotive manufacturing industry in the U.S.

The crowd in Freeland cheered when airport speakers began blasting music by Kid Rock, a Michigan native, as Trump’s private jet arrived.

At both rallies, Trump bashed his current criminal trials. He claims the trials are attempts to try and remove him from the presidential campaign. Judge Juan Merchan has ruled that Trump must appear in court at least four days a week when court is in session. Trump called the prosecution a “fake trial.”
