GOP Bill Seeks To Destroy Climate Corps Plan

(BrightPress.org) – On Friday, November 3rd, Rep. Bob Good (R-VA) introduced the “No American Climate Corps Act” to block Biden’s ambitious attempt to create a “Climate Corps.” The bill prohibits the expenditure of federal tax dollars on an “American Climate Corps” or anything similar.

Good told Fox News Digital that he was blocking the move because of the way “Bidenomics” has decimated the finances of average American families. He accused Biden of being responsible for “sky-high energy prices,” and said that a Climate Corps would increase the regulatory burden on small businesses and drive inflation by forcing prices even higher than they are at present.

Good said his bill would push back against the radical “climate extremism” fostered by the Biden regime and encourage American independence from overseas sources of energy.

Biden planned to establish 20,000 young Americans who would be paid by tax dollars to engage in political activism. No legislation from Congress authorized the expenditure, nor was there any discussion of how much money was going to be invested into the initiative. The idea was to give these Biden-youth free transportation, meals, housing, and uniforms at taxpayer expense.

Progressives have been pushing for this kind of youth-involved activism since Biden took office. “Squad” members like Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) signed a letter to the Biden administration urging its establishment in September.

The letter demands a “Civilian Climate Corps” that would offer “good-paying union jobs” to anyone willing to push the party line on climate change.

Climate science is notoriously political. In 2009, thousands of emails were published from climate scientists at the UK’s Climate Research Unit. The hacker was never caught and the messages span 13 years. The resultant conversations showed that the researchers often misrepresented data, relying on models to make dire predictions of doom in the near future.

More recently a paper was suppressed from peer-reviewed publication because it failed to show a global-warming style climate emergency, and argued against it using scientific data.
