(BrightPress.org) – The President’s brother, James Biden, gave contradictory testimony during his interview with the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday, February 21st. The nearly 8-hour interview had multiple breaks throughout the day where committee members were able to give comments to members of the press. The interview session was behind closed doors and is a part of the House impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden.
According to the explanations of committee members, James Biden contradicted himself on the question of whether or not Joe Biden was ever a part of their family’s business deals. Mr. Biden opened with the claim that he’s been involved with a variety of business ventures over his 50-year career and categorically stated that Joe Biden “never had any involvement,” including any “direct or indirect financial interest.”
James Biden was forced to admit he did not recall a deal he did with his older brother, Joe Biden when the committee presented him with business documents that had both of the men’s signatures on them.
That led the lawmakers to conclude James Biden contradicted himself while under oath. They also added that Mr. Biden avoided giving direct answers to questions posed by the committee.
Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) told reporters that James Biden had said “a lot of things” that were “directly contradicted” by documentary evidence.
Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) called the testimony “interesting” and echoed sentiments expressed by Gaetz that Mr. Biden “contradicted himself.”
The interview is another in a long series where congressional investigators are attempting to discern the extent of the involvement of Joe Biden with his family’s overseas business ventures. It’s been alleged that Joe Biden was the brand being sold overseas and that his family was able to garner income by tacitly suggesting Joe Biden would advance business interests using his political office.
The DOJ indicted a former FBI informant who had claimed Joe Biden was the recipient of a $5 million bribe which has been used to slander the investigation as baseless. Republicans maintain that the facts aren’t in dispute and there are multiple lines of evidence suggesting Biden’s guilt.
