Texas Mayor Warns Of Robberies, Home Invasions Tied To Migrants

(BrightPress.org) – Mayor Rolando Salinas (D) of Eagle Pass, Texas is warning locals that the migrant surge is leading to home invasions and robberies and to be on their guard.

Speaking with the New York Post, Salinas said that his city of less than 30,000 people is set to absorb between 4,000 and 9,000 illegals over the next week. He added, that an additional 11,500 illegals have already entered the city in just the past 10 days.

He further added that the experience is unlike anything he’s ever witnessed on the border and that there must be penalties for coming into the country illegally. Acknowledging their desperation, he said that the U.S. is “a nation of laws” and pointed out that local agencies couldn’t respond to the number of calls they were getting involving migrants.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) accused border officials working on orders from the Biden administration of cutting razor wire they had installed along the U.S. side of the border. Abbott doubled down and ordered the Texas National Guard to reinstall the fencing. Multiple commenters urged the governor to arrest any feds caught cutting the wires.

Valeria Wheeler works in Eagle Pass with the Mission Border Hope Center and she said that they were seeing “mostly” single men. She also reported that some migrants have been aggressive, attacking staff, and migrants are locked into “survival mode.”

City officials passed a new ordinance allowing cops to arrest folks who trespass on city property, and Salinas has announced an official state of emergency in response to the flood of migrants.

Meanwhile, Biden is sending an additional 800 National Guardsmen to the border to facilitate “logistics,” meaning they aren’t defending the border but rather helping process the entry of the illegals and aid in their relocation. Biden’s administration is intent on allowing everyone in and giving them a nebulous future court date to address their illegal status.
